Description

• Active Ingredients:
  • Ofloxacin IP 200 mg: A fluoroquinolone antibiotic effective against various bacterial infections.
  • Ornidazole IP 500 mg: A nitroimidazole antibiotic and antiprotozoal agent effective against protozoal infections and anaerobic bacterial infections.
• Indications:
  • Gastrointestinal infections (e.g., bacterial diarrhea, dysentery)
  • Genitourinary infections (e.g., urinary tract infections, pelvic inflammatory disease)
  • Respiratory tract infections (e.g., bronchitis, pneumonia)
  • Skin and soft tissue infections
  • Mixed bacterial and protozoal infections
• Mechanism of Action:
  • Ofloxacin: Inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, preventing bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination, leading to bacterial cell death.
  • Ornidazole: Disrupts DNA synthesis in protozoa and anaerobic bacteria, leading to cell death.
