Description

• Active Ingredients:
  • Cefuroxime Axetil IP 500 mg: A broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic.
  • Clavulanate Potassium 125 mg: A beta-lactamase inhibitor that enhances the efficacy of cefuroxime.
• Indications:
  • Respiratory tract infections (e.g., bronchitis, pneumonia)
  • Sinus infections (sinusitis)
  • Skin and soft tissue infections
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Bone and joint infections
  • Gonorrhea (a sexually transmitted disease)
• Mechanism of Action:
  • Cefuroxime: Inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death.
  • Clavulanate Potassium: Inhibits beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria, preventing the degradation of cefuroxime.
